Meet Dr. Ron Wilson
| Dr. Wilson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia, and is excited to be back in town treating his hometown family and friends. He graduated in 1995 from Gainesville High School where he was active in both football and baseball. After graduation, he attended North Georgia College and State University majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. | The President's and Dean's List as well as the National Dean's List, President of the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the highest GPA Award for the Theta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi. In addition, he was an active member of his fraternity, Sigma Chi, holding offices of Scholarship Chair and President of the Alpha Nu Pledge Class of the Theta Epsilon chapter. He graduated from North Georgia College and State University Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minor in Biology in 1999. After college, Dr. Wilson attended the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry, graduating at the top of his class in 2004. This achievement earned him a position in the Orthodontic Residency Program at the Medical College of Georgia in which he graduated in December 2006. While at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Wilson was active in the American Student Dental Association where he served as chairman his junior year for the annual ASDA golf tournament. He was also active throughout his dental career in research where he was able to present his findings in San Antonio and Hawaii. Dr. Wilson married his wife, Bonnie-Lynne, in December 2006. They are currently living in Gainesville and have a lab and bichon frise, Duke and Bailey. They are also pleased to announce that their first daughter, Lilly-Kate, is due in April. Bonnie-Lynne is practice coordinator for Wilson Orthodontics and is also employed by Northeast Georgia Health System as a hospice bereavement counselor working with children who have lost a parent or sibling. Dr. Wilson enjoys spending time with his wife, golfing, boating, traveling, hunting, fishing, and working out. He also enjoys spending time treatment planning his orthodontic cases and furthering his orthodontic practice through new ideas, practicing the latest treatment techniques, and attending continuing education meetings. Dr. Wilson has two sisters, Ashley and Laura, and one brother, Morgan, who is training for the Olympics in sprint kayaking. In December 2006, Dr. Wilson joined Dr. Thomas Field's 30-year-old practice and transitioned the practice to what is now Wilson Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Georgia Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Georgia Dental Association. Upon graduation in 2006, he also achieved the prestigious status of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Back to top » | |
