Happy Thanksgiving from Wilson Orthodontics!

November 23rd, 2011

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season knocking at our door, Dr. Ron Wilson and Dr. Svetlana Lekht and our entire staff at Wilson Orthodontics wanted to stop for a moment and extend our best wishes to you, our patients, referring doctors and families, for a wonderful Thanksgiving.

It's a big food holiday, so be careful what you eat with those braces! If you have any stories or pictures to share with us, we'd encourage you to post them on our Facebook page.

As always, if you know anyone we can help, just let us know. We promise to give them the same quality orthodontic care that we have given you.

We hope that this Thanksgiving and holiday season brings fond memories. Thank you for being part of our family.

This Thanksgiving, what are we thankful for?

November 17th, 2010

To me Thanksgiving is a time of reflections and to count our many blessings. I am most thankful to God, family, friends, good health and my job. There is nothing sweeter than the smells of our Thanksgiving dinner, the sharing of our family and friends. Fall is such a wonderful time of year, the crisp air and the beautiful changes of color in our land. This brings renewal to the spirit of life. Here at Wilson Orthodontics we are particularly thankful for our wonderful and dedicated patients. You are a blessing to our office of employees. We wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, a safe and healthy holiday.

This year brings new additions to our family and office. Dr. and Mrs. Wilson welcome their brand new baby daughter, Lilly-Kate! She is absolutely beautiful and such a joyous blessing to our family. Secondly we have renovated our office with a new waiting room area, web cafe and charity spa along with many other surprises. The changes can be viewed on our website at www.WilsonBraces.com. It is Awesome! We are very proud of our new additions and invite you to visit with us.

Finally, but not least we welcome our newest employee, Debbie Brown! Debbie will be our new patient coordinator and will enjoy working in her new surroundings. We offer the latest technology in our new patient rooms. Dr. Wilson and Debbie will enjoy meeting you and making your new patient visit pleasant and informative.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving,

Linda Boss and the entire Wilson Orthodontics team

Turkey Time, by Shannon Hicks

November 25th, 2009

That’s right, It’s that time of year for lots of home cooked food, family and friends! It seems we wait all year long to stuff ourselves on Thanksgiving Day. As we feast, there are foods that aren’t what we call “braces-friendly”. Some of those particular foods are: corn on the cob, fresh fruits and veggies such as, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and apples. These can be eaten mind you, if the corn is cut off the cob, and apples and veggies are cooked so they become soft. Let’s not forget the yummy desserts, brownies , cookies and pies which contain nuts or caramel should be avoided.

This still leaves a lot of foods that are “braces-friendly”, so feel free to load up! Such foods are: turkey and dressing of course, (as long as it is pulled off the bone), all the “fixins” to go along with this like, green beans , creamed corn, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes , deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, lima or butter beans and potato salad. Casseroles are always good, such as, broccoli, squash and green bean. Homemade biscuits or rolls are great too. After the main course, if you have room in your tummy to tame your sweet tooth, fill your plate with some of my favorites like, fudge brownies, homemade chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, and cakes too.

Try not to stuff yourselves too much and “Happy Thanksgiving” from all of us at Wilson Orthodontics!

-Shannon Hicks, Chairside Assistant
