Quality Orthodontic Treatment with Wilson Orthodontics

May 14th, 2012

Experts at Wilson Orthodontics Offers Quality Orthodontic Treatment

Proper orthodontic treatment is necessary for both kids and adults, and the team of Wilson Orthodontics tries to spread this awareness along with providing the very best in orthodontic treatments.

May 14 2012 - Teeth and jaw issues are common among both adults and children, and only an expert orthodontist can help to cure these problems and bring back the beautiful smile through advanced orthodontic treatment procedures.

To make sure that people of all ages smile confidently Wilson Orthodontics provide a comprehensive service through their expert orthodontic team.

Wilson Orthodontic TeamDr. Svetlana Lekht and Dr. Ron Wilson heads the team and they offer their services in many places including Gainesville, Hoschton, Oakwood, Cleveland GA, Dahlone, Flowery Branch GA and other nearby Hall County areas.

At the Gainesville practice, one can get different varieties of braces for kids and adults as well. Early orthodontic treatment and the right braces for kids can give them a healthy smile in the future.

Do You Qualify for Invisalign?

Many people, especially teens do not like braces to show up when they smile, so clear braces are the best option for them. This is why the expert team puts forward Invisalign, which provide straight teeth with removable and invisible aligners.

For teens, specialized Invisalign Teen at affordable rates are also available here. Invisalign Teen are clear braces that are almost invisible, and as they can be easily removed, create no problem with flossing or brushing.

The team says, “We are the only licensed Premier Preferred Provider of Invisalign in Gainesville, and we also offer the patients a complimentary consultation for determining whether this advanced treatment is the right choice for the patient, so that they can get the best orthodontics treatment.”

Being a member of American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Wilson is also making an attempt to educate parents with encouraging their kids to wear mouth guards while playing sports and games.

“I want to ensure that my teammates and patients are protected properly,” adds the doctor, “and I want them to use protection gear like mouth guards to stay away from facial, mouth or teeth injuries.”

The doctor and his team also remind people, athletes, and coaches about the importance of mouth guards for children, as they can suffer facial injuries in sport activities. The majority of parents agree with the fact that their kids do not wear facial protection like a mouth guard while playing sports.

Orthodontic Treatment

Ask your Doctor: What should I expect during my initial consultation?

May 11th, 2012

Great question! When you first come in for your initial consultation your doctor will conduct a comprehensive examination to assess your oral health. This will better enable us to determine the best treatment method for you.
Your orthodontic evaluation will consist of an oral and facial examination to assess your oral health. We will have you take intraoral and facial photographs as well as panoramic and cephalometric X-rays to help determine the proper orthodontic treatment method. Then, an impression of your teeth and bite will be taken to construct a model of your mouth. (This will help us when examining your diagnostic records).
At your second appointment, the doctor will discuss your options with you. Our team feels it’s important to take the time to carefully examine your diagnostic records after your consultation so that we can more thoroughly prepare for your orthodontic treatment. This additional preparation will ensure that you receive the best orthodontic care possible. At this time, we encourage you to ask us any questions you may have about your treatment.
If you are seeking orthodontics for your child, our staff asks that both you and your child attend the initial consultation. We feel it is important that both you and your child completely understand the doctor’s recommendations before we proceed with treatment.
Give us a call today and schedule a consultation! We look forward to hearing from you!

Celebrating Earth Day by Doing Our Part to Help the Planet!

April 27th, 2012

We are living in an age with a renewed commitment to conservation, and are frequently reminded to recycle, reduce and reuse. Last Sunday marked Earth Day, so today we thought we would discuss some of the things we do to conserve our natural resources and the environment.

Our office is digitalized, which means we can operate without the use of large amounts of paper and printing materials. The information in our office can be sent and processed digitally, which is also more efficient. We take all of the steps possible to be a 'green' office, making us better for the planet and more convenient for our patients.

We would love to hear how you minimize your impact on the environment. Leave us a comment below or post on our Facebook page!

Orthodontic Treatment Options, at Wilson Orthodontics

March 7th, 2012

"We have many orthodontic treatments available at Wilson Orthodontics. We offer Invisalign and the Damon System to our patients, and both have amazing benefits. The Damon System is our most used treatment for both adults and children. This system offers less discomfort and pressure, fewer adjustments and faster treatment time. Clear brackets are an option, as well as the traditional metal.

The Invisalign treatment is a series of invisible trays that are removable, which the patient changes every two weeks. This means fewer appointments to the orthodontist and you cannot even tell you are wearing braces! Invisalign can be used by teens and adults, so whether you want to improve your own smile or need more information about your teen’s orthodontic options, contact our office to learn more."

The holiday season at Wilson Orthodontics

November 10th, 2011

"The holidays are quickly approaching, and it's our favorite time of the year here at Wilson Orthodontics! We just finished up our Halloween Candy Buy Back Program, which was a huge success. All of the candy that we received was sent to our soldiers overseas. Thank you to everyone who helped us collect these sweet treats for our troops. We also just completed the fundraiser for The Susan G. Koman Foundation through our Facebook contest, which was also a huge success thanks to our wonderful patients!

We are currently giving away an iPod Nano with the iWatch Q Wrist Band to 3 winning patients in our current contest. You can enter by visiting us on Facebook, or by submitting a review on our Google Places page! We are so thankful for ALL of our awesome patients and look forward to a busy, and fun, holiday season!"

Why I love orthodontics, from Shannon C.

November 4th, 2011

"I feel very fortunate to be in the wonderful field of orthodontics! I am able to change not only smiles, but also lives. I love meeting people and getting to know them as they go through their orthodontic treatment. I strive to make patients to feel comfortable at their appointments. It's great to know that we not only have patients, but new friends as well! Building a report with them is just an awesome feeling!

When we begin treatment with patients, they are sometimes embarrassed by their smiles. A patient could have spacing issues or just simply need rotations. Whatever the reason, I really try to build their confidence so that they feel better about themselves. That is very important to me, as it is something they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. The most rewarding thing to me is seeing a patient's end result... a beautiful smile which he or she absolutely loves and is so thankful for! This makes my job so rewarding! I'm so glad to be a part of their lives.

Here at Wilson Orthodontics, we give our patients more than straight teeth, we give them a smile and confidence that lasts a lifetime!"

~ Shannon Couch, Chairside Assistant

At Wilson Orthodontics, we leave no question unanswered!

October 11th, 2011

"We enjoy our patients very much and we strive to make your every visit to Wilson Orthodontics comfortable and informative. It is our team's priority for our patients to feel welcome from that very first moment in our office.

Beginning treatment is a big step for anyone, at any age, which is why we always make sure to address any questions that you might have about the cost, length and benefits of orthodontic treatment. Here at Wilson Orthodontics we have a very extensive initial exam and most, if not all, questions are answered before the patient or parents have a chance to ask. We also provide a lot information on our website! If you ever have a question that we have not answered, don't hesitate to let us know. We are here to serve you and all of your orthodontic needs."

~ Cheryl Poole, Front Desk Receptionist

How has the internet changed our practice?

October 6th, 2011

"Over the years technology has evolved more than ever and it allows us here at Wilson Orthodontics to connect with our patients on a whole other level. The internet has changed our practice by being able to advertise everything we have to offer in a more efficient way. Patients can go to our website to be more informed about us before they even come in. We also now have ways to connect with everyone through social networking such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and more. Technology has advanced in so many ways and it will continue to help us expand our office."

A Commitment to Continuing Education

September 13th, 2011

"Our staff at Wilson Orthodontics is committed to continuing education. We like to keep up with the latest and most effective orthodontic procedures. Not only does it aid us, but it also helps us educate our patients about their treatment.

This year our staff has traveled to California, Georgia and Texas for continuing education. We have covered topics that include: treatment coordinating, improving records, scheduling, and much more!

I think continuing education is very beneficial. It helps our office keep up with all of the new procedures and technology that has become available. It also helps us educate our patients on their orthodontic treatment and reassure them at they are receiving the most up-to-date care."

Autumn transitions, at Wilson Orthodontics

September 6th, 2011

Summer has flown by and now we are looking forward to the beautiful colors and cooler days of fall here at Wilson Orthodontics, serving the Gainesville, Cleveland, Hoschton/Braselton, Oakwood, Flowery Branch, Dahlonega, and surrounding Georgia areas.

As usual, summer was a very busy time at Wilson Orthodontics. We all worked hard to accommodate our patients' needs during their “off” time, and to fit everyone into the schedule before school started. We love taking the first week of school off, just to recuperate from our busy summer, and then it is onto autumn. The fall season is a great time to get things done that have been put off during the fun summer months, so we will be busy catching up. The holidays will be right around the corner and our office will be as busy as ever as we try to fit in treatment before the end of the year! It’s a cycle that never ends, which we love!

Jessica Albritton, an unsung hero at Wilson Orthodontics

August 31st, 2011

When I think about an unsung office hero, I think of someone who goes the distance to help everything run smooth; a knowledgeable team player. Jessica Albritton, to me, is Wilson Orthodontics' unsung hero! She is one of the go-to members of our team, and she is often called upon for assistance! Jessica knows how to do everything from taking x-rays and answering phone calls to managing patient games, contests & more. With everything on her to-do list and her magical way of being a part of the team, I'm constantly wondering, “How does she do it?”

Thanks for everything you do, Jessica Albritton!

Wilson Orthodontics Charity SpaOur team at Wilson Orthodontics strives to make our orthodontic office your home away from home. With everything from coffee and freshly baked cookies to wi-fi internet, a theater, and game room, we offer patients the ultimate orthodontic experience while delivering the very best orthodontic treatment. Our office is designed with your family's best interests in mind, and we take every opportunity to exceed your expectations! This week, our front desk receptionist Angie would like to share her a few of the ways that she thinks Wilson Orthodontics goes "the extra mile" for our patients.

Charity Spa
Did you know that we have a Charity Spa? That's right, parents can enjoy manicures, pedicures, massage chairs, acrylics and paraffin treatments while giving back to our local charities and schools. 100% of our spa proceeds are donated to charity. You can even choose if you would like to support the Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, Good News Clinics, Family, Ties or CASA of Hall & Dawson County.

BRACE BUS
While you recognize that our office has unsurpassed amenities and offers exceptional orthodontic care, what if you simply can't take the time off work for your child's orthodontist appointment? Now, thanks to our BRACE BUS, you can relax knowing that this is no longer an issue! Our office realizes that today's parents are constantly challenged to find the time to fit sports, after-school activities, and other appointments into their busy schedule. We now offer a BRACE BUS, so that your kids can make it to their appointments on time while riding in style. To help you feel at ease, we even offer parents the option of watching their child's trip to Wilson Orthodontics through our 4 video camera DVR system.

Dr. Wilson, Dr. Lekht and our team serve patients in the Gainesville, Cleveland, Hoschton/Braselton, Oakwood, Flowery Branch, Dahlonega, and surrounding Georgia areas. Please don't hesitate to ask if there's anything that our orthodontic team can do to better serve your family.

2. We are still giving away a iPad 2 twice a year! There are so many ways you can enter to win! There is always an office contest happening in the office. Ask us about it at your next appointment!

3. This month we will be opening up an office in Cleveland, Georgia! Hopefully by December we will be able to move into our new Hoschton/Braselton location on Spout Springs Rd. in Flowery Branch.

Patient Comfort and Convenience

May 4th, 2011

Here at Wilson Orthodontics, we strive to offer an enjoyable and effective orthodontic treatment experience for patients in Gainesville, Hoschton/Braselton in the Oakwood, Flowery Branch, and surrounding Georgia areas. From a patient's first step into the office until their treatment is complete, we work with patients in every aspect of complete dental care, and have a little fun along the way! For patients that are not yet ready to begin treatment we see them every 6 months to monitor tooth movement and growth. For patients who are in active treatment we work with their general dentist and specialists to achieve their needs, such as making space for implants. For all patients, its important that they see their regular dentist throughout their orthodontic treatment to ensure optimal dental health and hygiene habits.

Depending on the needs of the patient, Dr. Wilson can offer several different options for treatment. Along the way, our friendly team takes the time to explain processes and procedures to patients before and during the procedure. We work hard to make sure that every patient understands how and why certain procedures work, and what outcome will or should be.

Our offices have the latest technologies, with options ranging from the Damon System, clear brackets, and even Invisalign! The Damon system in particular is quite popular, as it causes less friction to the teeth therefore causing less discomfort. It allows patients to be able to have less frequent visits into the office for adjustments. Other innovations include the Orthotrac software, as well as digital x-ray and photography for documenting each patient's progress.

Our Gainesville office has been recently renovated, and now includes a charity spa, wireless internet, internet, game room, iPads, coffee bar, fresh baked cookies, and hand held gaming systems at each patient chairs. Our charity spa is a great convenience for our parents and patients while they wait. Through this great service, we are able to give back to our local community too!

To reward patients, we offer a token program that patients can earn for having great oral hygiene, being on time for appointments, and wearing their t-shirt that they receive when they begin treatment. Once they have enough tokens, patients are invited to spin our prize wheel, which includes giftcards from Starbucks, Target, iTunes, and many more. The patients love to receive their tokens and rewards. Besides our token program, we are always holding fun in-office contests for patients. Currently, our contests include Teacher of the Year and our Wilson Orthodontics Photo Contest.

There is always something fun going on at Wilson Orthodontics. We want EVERY patients experience with us to be a memorable one!

Going Green at Wilson Orthodontics

April 22nd, 2011

We are living in an age with a renewed commitment to conservation, and are frequently reminded to recycle, reduce and reuse. Earth Day is today, April 22nd, and we thought this would be a great time to discuss everything that Wilson Orthodontics does to conserve our natural resources and the environment.

Did you know that our office has been paperless since 2008? We offer convenient and secure online services with our patient login system. You can view all of your account information, and even receive appointment reminders through email or text messages. Since this information is submitted electronically, we eliminate the need for paper communications. We are also providing digital X-rays that don't require chemicals to produce.

We're also always looking for new ways to go green- currently we are exploring new  non-toxic cleaning supplies for use in the office.  Dr. Wilson and our team would love to hear how you minimize your impact on the environment. Leave us a comment below or you can also visit our Facebook page and post something on our wall. Happy Earth Day!

Working with Patients with Special Needs

April 15th, 2011

At Wilson Orthodontics, we work with patients of all ages and needs. These include patients with special needs, conditions, and disabilities. Our team is experienced and willing to work with these patients, and strive to help create a comfortable, relaxing environment.

Just last week, we saw a child with autism. We sat down with her mother beforehand to discuss the environment in which her daughter feels most comfortable in. She mentioned that she preferred closed doors, quiet voices, and a minimal amount of excitement around her. We informed the team of these requests, and we believe this patient's visit was a success! At Wilson Orthodontics, we do our part to accommodate all our patients' needs.
